Privacy Policy: V2: Future You, by Silent Shift

Effective date: 29 September 2026.

What V2 is

V2 is a coaching app. You talk with a future version of yourself, in text or by voice, and it holds you to the plans you make each day. To do that it has to remember what you tell it. This policy explains what it keeps, why, who else touches it, and how to have it deleted.

What we collect

We do not collect your location except as the route of a session you track, described above. We do not collect your contacts, advertising identifiers, or any analytics about how you use the app. We do not read any health data beyond the kinds listed above: not heart rate, not weight from other apps, not fertility, sexual activity, reproductive or clinical records, not anything a doctor put there. What reaches the coach is a short daily summary: what you did today and for how long, how you slept, and, only if you shared your cycle, which day of it you are on and when your last period started. The coach's replies are written by OpenAI (see "Who processes your data"), so that summary is sent to OpenAI with your conversation, only to write the reply. Your health and cycle data are never used for advertising, never sold, never put in a notification, and never shared with anyone else. They are deleted with your account.

The permissions V2 asks for, and why

V2 asks for each of these only when you first use the feature that needs it. You can turn any of them off in iOS Settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

  1. Microphone. So you can talk to your future self instead of typing.
  2. Speech recognition. So what you say becomes text you can read and edit before sending. V2 asks iOS to recognize speech on your device. When your device cannot do that, iOS may send the audio to Apple to be recognized, under Apple's own privacy policy. V2 itself never receives or stores the audio.
  3. Camera. So you can take the photos your future self is built from, your progress photos at each version, and a photo of a meal for the coach to judge.
  4. Photo library (read). So you can pick those photos, or a photo of a meal, from your library instead.
  5. Photo library (add only). So Save to Photos can put your portrait in your library. V2 cannot read your library through this permission.
  6. Notifications. So V2 can nudge you in the morning, the afternoon and the evening. These reminders are scheduled on your phone; this version does not send push notifications from a server and does not collect a push token.
  7. Apple Health (read only). So your future self can see what you actually did, instead of asking you to repeat it: your steps and walking distance become the day's Moved line, a workout your watch or ring recorded logs itself against what you planned, your sleep can replace the morning question, and a mindful session counts as meditation. V2 asks only for permission to READ, and only for the kinds of data named above. It never writes to Health. This one is off until you turn it on in You, and you can change exactly what it may read at any time in the Health app, under Sharing. Cycle from Health is a separate ask, offered in You only after you tell the coach you are female, and only when you turn it on; saying no to it leaves the rest of Health working. (iOS requires an app that can reach Health at all to carry a "write" purpose string as well, so V2 carries one; it says that V2 only reads, and V2 never asks for permission to write.)
  8. Location, while using the app. So V2 can draw the route of a walk, run or hike you track and measure its distance and pace. It is asked for the first time you start a tracked session, never before. V2 uses it only while that session is running: if you lock your phone during it, it keeps recording until you end the session, and iOS shows its location indicator the whole time. V2 never asks for "Always" and never tracks you outside a session you started. If location is already allowed, gym search also uses it to put the gyms nearest you first; that screen never asks for it on its own. (iOS also requires a "motion and fitness" purpose string from any app whose location code could read motion activity, so V2 carries one; it says that V2 does not read it, and V2 never asks for that permission.)

Who processes your data

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, show ads, or use an analytics or tracking SDK.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account, because the coach is only useful if it remembers.

You can delete your account from inside the app, at any time: You, then Delete account. It asks twice, and then it is done: your photos and your portrait are deleted from storage first, and then your account itself, which takes the conversation, the memories, the weigh-ins, the sleep and meal records, the workouts and their routes, the usage records, and everything else logged with it. It is immediate and it cannot be undone, and nothing is kept behind afterwards except anonymous server logs that carry no account data.

If you would rather we did it, email the address below and we will.

Children

V2 is intended for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and a material change is announced in the app before it takes effect.
